MSM, methyl sulphonyl methane, is a naturally-occurring sulphur compound that occurs naturally in our bodies and in our most common foods.

Sulphur is the third most abundant substance in our bodies and a human being needs to consume the equivalent of a 1/8 of a teaspoon per day.

However much of the sulphur that we used to get is lost in modern food processing today and so it has become quite common for us to suffer from sulphur deficiencies in our diets.

As a dietary supplement, MSM which contains 34% sulphur by weight is thought to deliver sulphur to the body in a useable way.
